Summary/Abstract: The review of Artūras Akelaitis doctoral thesis reveals the object and the aim of the research, short description of each part of the doctoral thesis, and the main conclusions of the implemented research. The dissertation has a traditional structure and consists of a summary and an interpretation of key terms, an introduction, four parts, conclusions, practical recommendations, references and annexes. The author focuses on the concept of developing social emotional competence based on the positive paradigm of youth development, social cognitive, social constructivism and emotional intelligence theories.
