Summary/Abstract: From the results of testing students´ knowledges and skills we have generally concluded that at lower primary, within teaching mathematics, we must lead pupils to master careful, concentrated reading, even in cases of simple or more complicated, realistic tasks having a mathematical context. They should also gain experience in mathematical understanding of real situations. When solving more complex mathematical tasks, in order to find accurate solution, it is important to allow scope for problem analysis, and definition of steps leading to solution.
