Summary/Abstract: This article aims to evaluate the demographic structure in Bursa, the central sanjak of Hüdavendigâr province, and the qazas (districts of a vilayet) of Orhaneli, Kirmasti, Karacabey, Mudanya, Gemlik and Orhangazi, by categorizing it based on ethnical and religious belonging, in the light of population census, statistical data from Ottoman archives and modern sources. In order to observe the population changes of sanjak and qazas, each data of population is compared with the previous one, and the amount and causes of increase/decrease in population are determined. In addition, the article also focuses on the changes and fluctuation in the population of the sanjak due to the relocation of Armenians and the settlement of Greeks and analyzes the pre and post-war demographic composition of the sanjak and its qazas.
