Specialised Authorities Competent in the Programme for Protection of Persons Threatened in connection with Criminal Procedure

Summary/Abstract: In this article, the author presents the essence and the functions of the Programme for protection of persons threatened in connection with criminal procedure. The supplementary activities related to the need to ensure social, medical, psychological, legal or financial assistance that might be included by the protective Programme, were also reviewed. This scientific study envisions some suggestions to include supplementary safeguard measures and to establish the relevant specialised authorities featuring strictly confidential functions in the future criminal procedure legislation of the Republic of Bulgaria. The author identifies specifically and exhaustively all specialised authorities whose competences are related to the implementation of the Threatened Persons Protection Programme.
