Summary/Abstract: In the article, Origenes, a Father of the early Christian Church, is presented and his works are considered. His educational program for catechetic school and exegetic works display the influence of Greek philosophy. His four-volume (libri) treatise De principiis is known as the first attempt to systematize Christian teaching, the first Summa theologiae. In accordance with the tradition established by Clemens of Alexandria, Origenes underlined the saving grace of the divine truth, which is obtained through Christ and the influence of invisible Logos. In commenting on the Holy Writ, he relied on Filon's allegorical method and lexicological interpretation by means of grammatical rules. Although the Church renounced the doctrine of Origenes, nevertheless, his methods contributed to the development of Christian philosophy.
