XXVIII International Festival of Religious Music Im. Father Stanisław Ormiński in Rumia (October 20-22, 2016)

Summary/Abstract: On October 20-22, 2016, the twenty-eighth edition of the International Festival of Religious Music took place. Fr.. Stanisława Ormiński in Rumia (referred to as the MFMR) 1. The hosts of this artistic event are the Salesians of Don Bosco who together with its organizers (MFMR Informator 2016, 8) ensure the perfect preparation of the festival. The work is supported by a number of institutions3 (MFMR. Informator 2016, 8) and people who secure them financially. The festival has the character of a competition. In this edition, it was held on four levels: (1) composers' competition; (2) organ music competition; (3) choir ensemble competition (in two categories) and (4) competition for the best performance of religious songs in Kashub. Its specifics make it the only festival of this type in Poland. The organizers will precisely define its goals and assumptions. The regulations stipulate that only non-professional choral teams and young organists, students of music schools and students representing various academic centers may participate in it (MFMR Regulations 2016, 3).
