Summary/Abstract: Paul shows the power of the grace of God, which transcends all sins. Through baptism, the believer is immersed in the paschal mystery of Christ and blessed with the grace of salvation. In this paraklesis, Paul presents Christians who have passed from death to life and have become “new people.” The “old man” possessed by sin has been forever buried with Christ. In baptism, the believer is brought into union with Christ in His death, resurrection, and glorious life in God. The believer is thus enabled to open to the obedience to God and to reject evil tendencies associated with sin. The Christian becomes a soldier of God, serving in the army fighting for the freedom of the children of God and for the justice . This is possible because it is open to the grace of God.
