Summary/Abstract: Today, the perception of (ideal) feminity is based on a visual presentation of the (ideal) female body, including female nudes. Due to the cultural patterns, most of the recipients of visual culture rarely have an opportunity to become familiar with a variety of representations of the female body (age, body shape, stylization). The most common is the pattern of “fit woman” – neat, slim, stressing her sexual attributes. This analysis confronts the traditional image with the increasingly popular trend among women – building athletic body (strong, muscular, silhouette), previously limited to men. The main aim is to investigate how women nude based on the musculature can empower the image of a female by adding power and agency, previously only enjoyed by men. We will try to determine whether the muscular nudity is actually a way to manifest (gained) power and an opportunity to change the perception of femininity or just another way of presenting women as a mere sexual object
