Summary/Abstract: In this article the author analyzes the coins minted during the reign of Augustus and linked to the person and activity of Tiberius Claudius Nero. Issued coins, referring to the emperor's stepson, can be divided into two groups. These from the first one, were stuck until 4 A.D. Legends and iconography placed on them were connected with achievements owed to Tiberius, however they were not associated with him. Coins from the second group which were issued after 4 A.D he was presented on them as the son of the emperor and his successor. In later issues was marked also achieved by the Tiberius position of co-ruler by placing on the coins legends information of given to him tribunica potestas. These references to the Livia’s son in Octavian’s coinage, testifies about adjustment propaganda, realized with the help of numismatics, to the current dynastic policy of emperor. This resulted in the fact that only after the designation as the successor of Octavian’s references to Tiberius may be placed on the coins.
