Summary/Abstract: By having taken into account the emphasis on the crucial role of Confession and the Holy Eucharist Sacraments for the life of Christ’s Church and for the spiritual strengthening of each Christian individually, The Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church decreeded 2014 as the Anniversary Year of the Holy Eucharist within the Romanian Patriarchate. This study emphasizes the extremely essential role of Confession in the faithful’s life for the spiritual restoration and renewal of the fallen human nature and their drawing near to the unity with God in an intimate way and with a clean soul by receiving the Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God, and in the work full of grace of the Holy Spirit. This is precisely why we have named Confession – the Sacrament of the restoration and renewal of the fallen human nature and returned to a new life in Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the world.
