Summary/Abstract: The article focuses on the author’s comparison of the image of a house in the novel written by Valeriy Shevchuk The Specter of a Dead House and in the novel written by a young author of Armenian origin, Mariam Petrosyan The House where. Both V. Shevchuk and M. Petrosian, present the house as a dark, enclosed space in which the events unfold. In both novels the symbol of home can be read in several ways: as a metaphor of a social reality or the projection of the heroes consciousness.
