Summary/Abstract: Article constitutes a reference to considerations of Lucyna Rożek, contained in her book "Postmodern paradigms of culture and literature" (2013), especially to the chapter "Role of emotional and spiritual intelligence in recognizing the existing values and creating the new ones". The problem of relationship and correlation between basic cognitive functions that are actualized by the creative subject is taken into consideration in the presented reference. This problem is being developed in the context of the poetics inherent in the poetry of Tadeusz Nowak. The following formal, thematic and expressive determinants of Nowak's poetics are exposed in the discussion: constructing multilevel meanings of the marked lexemes; axiological valorization of cultural and religious tradition as the basis for shaping the local communities and the individual "I"; actualization of the attitude of "Orphic dignity" as opposed to the attitude of Judas, which is currently, according to Nowak, a figuration of the rule of tradition disinheritance. Refinement of the identified determinants is developed in the analysis of: - fundamental in the work of Nowak's two 'revisory attitudes' (Bloom), 'askesis' and 'demonization'; – the reconstruction of the attitude of "autobiographical self" and "autobiographical memory" as a source of creative acts that allow representation of the weave of communication and cultural memory. The wider referential context is constituted by the historical-literary elaboration of the work of Tadeusz Nowak and by the concepts of creative imagination, spiritual and emotional intelligence, formulated primarily by Bloom, Roqueplo, Damasio, Kuźmicki and Zohar & Marshall, to which also Lucyna Rożek has directed in her elaboration.
