Summary/Abstract: Comparison as a general scientific method is unavoidable in geography and cartography. The map makes the comparison possible at any given moment in time. Demographic characteristics of certain geospace represent its most dynamic part. The advantage of presenting demographic facts in cartographic modelling is made possible by following the development of certain phenomena arranged in series of numerical indicators, i.e. statistical data.
