Summary/Abstract: The article presents a correlation between the size of the German populationin the interwar period in the Silesian voivodeship and the results achieved byGerman electoral lists in the elections to the Polish parliament in 1922–1930.The author not only indicates significant differences between the numbersdeclared in the German census and the results of the elections, but also tries tofind out the cause of this situation. He also discusses the differences between thevarious parts of the voivodship, especially between Prussian and Austrian Silesia(Cieszyn Silesia), showing how the different levels of Polish national consciousnessand regional separatism in these two parts influenced the outcome of theelections for the German minority.
