Summary/Abstract: The article is dedicated to the attitudes of the Greek Catholic clergy of the Przemyśl diocese in the last several months before the outbreak of World War II. The author depicts both anti-state attitudes (which are significantly more numerous), such as the denial of Polish statehood in areas considered ethnographically Ukrainian, involvement in the aid for Subcarpathian Ruthenia as a Ukrainian Piedmont, and disregard for state authorities, as well as expressions of loyalty to the state (which were definitely less common). Through specific examples of priests involved in public activities, it illustrates their influence on the local community, as well as the consequences of their attitudes.
