Summary/Abstract: The precise definitions and uniformed understanding of the main concepts (terms) is a prerequisite for development of any kind of science. It is also a basis for an effective communication among the specialists of a certain field. In the paper a problem of mismatching between semantic meaning of the concept "careerguidance" and the content of phenomenon which this concept represents nowadays are discussed. A new concept - "career designing" for more precise reflection of a phenomenon that is now referred to "career guidance" is introduced and discussed.
