Summary/Abstract: Based on the research of archival materials, the goal is to consider the musical culture of Zaporizhzhya region of 1930 – 1950s in the aspects of performing, composing, educational practices. Methodology. The research methodology includes the use of the method the source analysis in the studying of archival material, cultural approach in order to understand the connections among social, historical and artistic process in the region. Scientific Novelty. The scientific novelty is the fact that the author is the first who has revealed the peculiarities of the musical culture’s development of Zaporizhzhya region of 1930 – 1950s in the context of historical-political and general cultural processes. Conclusions. Despite the fact that the musical culture’s development of Zaporizhzhya region was under the normative control and regarded as one of the most effective means of ideological influence on society, the researched period is an important step in the professionalization and formation of musical culture of the region. The factors, led to the professionalization of the branch, became the formation of the musical education system, the activities of well-known musicians in the region: A. Radchenko, L. Usachev, J. Yatsynevych, A. Presycha etc. In addition, the Zaporizhzhya Regional Philharmonic and professional theaters opened at that period. Increasing of the qualified specialists, creative activity of powerful centers raised the level of musical art of the region to a new level, significantly enhanced the musical education of people.
