Summary/Abstract: The study examines the social cohesive and life-supporting group identity function of the feasts in Nándor Gion’s work entitled Az angyali vigasság, respectively the rites of Christmas, its interactions, forms of action different from the quotidian, the representative objects framing the special situation, cultural symbols of visual effects, as well as the space of the feast. The organizing principle of the design of the volume consisting of seven short stories follows the model of One Thousand and One Nights. The cohesive theme of the texts, also full of biblical relating, is storytelling as well as presenting one of the religious traditions of Christmas, the angelic feast, and the nativity play. Storytelling can help restore the balance, recover the personality that was broken and lonely (in the festive season), and the biblical Nativity story implies that humanity is salvable; people can become better through good deeds.
