The Importance of the European Professional Card for Integration of EU Services Markets

Summary/Abstract: In 2013 the EU member states committed to simplify the procedure of recognition of professional qualifications before 18 January 2016. The European professional card is the major change introduced by this directive. It is an electronic proof of recognition of professional qualifications of services providers who wish to work either temporarily or permanently in another EU country. The importance of this solution for deepening of integration of EU services markets will be limited due to its character and scope.
