INTRODUCTORY NOTIONS IN THE STUDY OF HISTORY APPROACHES FOR THE 4TH GRADE

Summary/Abstract: The author of the study intended to find out what influence does the use of modern methods in the history lesson on students' learning motivation. For the fourth grade, the use of real teaching materials, learning through discovery, the call for exercises and didactic game, facilitates the understanding and acquiring of the historical notions. Those concepts are far too abstract for the development of thought at that age. Lessons that include the first notions in the study of history - historical space and time – depends of integration of content addressed in parallel disciplines such as geography, from the same curriculum area, or mathematics, from the sciences area. The study supports the hypothesis that conducted comparative approaches to content diversification increases children's interest in studying history.
