Summary/Abstract: The Church has been spreading the Good News in hundreds of languages and dialects ”throughout the whole world.” The Gospel must be delivered in the language that is comprehensible to the recipient. Efficient proclamation of the Christian message implies its ”inculturation”. Biblia Sacra Arabica, published by the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples (Propaganda Fide), intended for the Christians in the Ottoman Empire, is a good example of this dictum. Its three volumes, compiled in accordance with the canons of the Council of Trent, contains the Latin (Vulgate) and Arabic translations of the entire Scripture.
