Summary/Abstract: This paper sets out the results of the project entitled “Programme for the on-going protection, presentation and integration of the cultural, historical and natural heritage into the tourism sector of Herzegovina economic region,” financed by the European Union and implemented by the Commission to Preserve National Monuments. The primary aim of the project was to contribute to the development of tourism by promoting and preserving the cultural, historical and natural heritage. The results of the project were improvements to the tourism promotion of the cultural, historical and natural heritage, the collection of documentation and the identification of the heritage, raising awareness of the importance and value of the heritage and encouraging and supporting the process of rehabilitation of certain national monuments.
