Summary/Abstract: The article discusses a critique of Max Scheler by classical and naturalistic theories of the human being. This Schelerian classification of two mistaken theories to man reveals a dualistic thinking of Scheler. According to the thinker, both types of scientific theories are false because they explain the essence of the man from the animalistic point of view. They imply that man is equal to a particular animal. However, both philosophical both theories were debunked by Scheler‘s principle of spirit. It means that the Spirit is separated purely from organic things. The Spirit is neither God nor the ability of the exceptional man. It is an undivided person with the strong immaterial values. According to the naturalistic point of view of the social darwinism, human values can be changed by the social adaptation. In this case man‘s values have a materialistic character. Contrary to it, the Schelerian philosophical alternative concerns not only the human intelligence or the knowledge of the mind but also keeps in touch of the ethical education on spiritual virtues of the person.
