Summary/Abstract: In this article, the authors present legal regulation in the field of additional work of health professionals in Serbia and Croatia. They analyzed right to additional work according to Health Care Act and bylaws regulating additional work or criteria for permission to work in private practice. The authors discussed the modalities in regulating additional work and conflinting interests of health professionals, ministry of health, patients and health care institutions, state owned and private, in terms of possibilities for additional work in private practice. The authors stated there is no legal base for discrimination healthcare professionals in relation to the rights of other employees to additional work.
