Summary/Abstract: The phenomenon of the Russian emigration after 1917, what Karl Schlogel calls Der grosse Exodus, has in the past few years come under study and scholarly re-evaluation. Special attention has been devoted to the so-called „Russian Berlin" (Russkij Berlin), most notably in the pioneering work of Fritz Mierau. This renewed interest has coincided with increased access to archival materials, as well as a rediscovery of sources long since forgotten or overlooked.
