Summary/Abstract: The article deals with teacher’s professional culture formation. The author considers that one of the indicators of teacher professionalism is the possession of didactic competencies. The definitions of the term “competence” are analyzed. The structure, types and conditions of didactic competencies formation are described. The article also provides an analysis of the researchers’ views on the training, based on the formation of didactic competencies. It is shown that pedagogical practice is one of the basic conditions of mastering the professional competences in the teacher’s initial vocational training
