Summary/Abstract: The analysis of the medical consultation as discourse and meta-discourse aims to associate the actual textual organization with the communication situation. We aim to identify the roles and means of realizing the meta-discourse, as well as the purpose of the consultation, namely the doctor-patient communication.The two fundamental dimensions of the analysis of various medical consultations, namely the discourse analysis and conversation analysis, aim to explain how consistency and sequential ordering in discourse are produced and understood.
