Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to analyze integenerational support models in Lithuania that significantly affect single mother families after divorce or separation. The research results demonstrate that intergenerational support models are oriented to childcare, provision of the material resources, instrumental and emotional support. Intergenerational support in childcare encourages single mothers participate more actively in the labor market and secure the regular income for their families. Parents’ financial support of single mothers who are lower educated, live in the poor material conditions and receive social benefits helps them reduce their material deprivation and improve their living conditions.
