Summary/Abstract: Contemporary upbringing within the school is increasingly taking it upon itself to prepare the young for self-upbringing and acquirement of knowledge and to assist them in better acquainting themselves, to more consciously form their relations with others, to be able to explain, on their own, the dilemmas and the tensions, their restlessness, needs and feelings. This task requires a high-quality leadership of the students. The uniqueness of the leader, in contrast to the manager, lies in his willingness to ask for the confirmation or the evaluation of the quality of his own work, while giving due consideration and acknowledging their ability to achieve good results. The leader facilitates the work for his associates and ensures a pleasant work environment free of pressure.
