Summary/Abstract: The author of this article discusses the process of the ”Islamic renewal” in the post-soviet territories and its reintegration in the Crimea, where the tradition of mutual tolerance between adherents of many various religions forms the basis for their continuing coexistence and good relationships. He illustrates it with examples of Islamic development, analysed through the prism of social progress. He argues that there are neither objective, nor subjective factors there today that would indicate an emergence of ethnic and nationalistic conflicts.
