MEDIEVAL WEAPONS FROM RUHOTYN HILLFORT (KORNESHTY) AND MILITARY SCIENCE OF THE BULGARIAN STATE IN THE IX CENTURY

Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the objects of medieval weapons found during the research of Ruhotyn hillfort (Korneshty). In the hill fort found a significant number of armaments action of varioust a distant battle and outfit rider and horse. This fact demonstrates the originality and importance of the hillfort. Arms ranged from hillfort offers over 150 different types of arrow heads, and many quivers details that allow reconstructing the past. Weapons melee of hill fort presented details of bladed weapons, among which deserve special attention pommel handle and sword chapes elements bladed weapons. Armament found on the hill fort, are numerous analogues in the materials of the First Bulgarian state and reflect the complex and contradictory processes that took place in Eastern Europe in the VIII-IX centuries.
