Summary/Abstract: The study constitutes the second part from a papers cycle dealing with problems of disparities in retail offer for citizens from urban and rural areas in the Subcarpathian region. In this part, customers’ preferences concerning range of assortment were presented. There was also verified a level of consistency of the assortment available in retail outlets in a place of customers’ living with their needs. There was taken an assumption of an essentially higher dissatisfaction concerning consistency of the assortment with needs of customers from rural areas. To deepen the analysis a lot of additional classifying criteria were used in the study, assuming however that place of living is a factor differentiating the customers’ opinions on assortment to the highest extent. Additionally, a comparative customers analysis concerned differences in a range of assortment and accessibility of products of respected brands in shops in rural and urban areas. Conclusions in the paper are based on the author’s research realised in 2012-2013 with participation of 331 customers of retail trade who lived in Podkarpackie Voivodeship.
