Summary/Abstract: This paper is focused on understanding the phenomenon of dance in an artistic, psychological and psychotherapeutic context. It deals with the differences in the dance: 1) when it exists in artistic context oriented to the product – artwork; and 2) when it exists in the context of psychotherapy directed towards the psychological process of a person. Framework of Carl Gustav Jung’s analytical psychology served as a reference point in understanding the difference. The paper discussed the archetypal nature of the dance, its psychotherapeutic potential, as well as various artistic, psychological and psychotherapeutic aspects of dance when it is manifested as an expression of active imagination.
