Summary/Abstract: Forming the appropriate and lasting hierarchy of values is one of essential youth learning objectives. Among values, health is especially significant as a basal, vital value and at the same time as an universal one. In the article, theoretical studies of values containing differences in definition and in the process of creating a partition of values were presented. Subsequently, a part concerning results of selected empirical research on hierarchy of values among youths and adults was included. Quoted studies showed, that a value „health” was placed near the top of hierarchy in declarations of teenagers, including family and love. There is a need for further research to determine it's place and it's role in perception of youth.
