Summary/Abstract: Remote teaching, although present among teaching methods for a long time, became widespread over a short period of time due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In this article, an attempt is made to interpret the shape in which it has appeared in education by relating the reasons for the selection of didactic aids to the models of functioning of the human mind identified through the interdisciplinary research of cognitive science, as well as by extracting models of the mind useful in pedagogy. The study lists several conclusions for practical application in working with students, resulting from the implantation of models based on the theory of knowledge transfer and acquisition. The main research method used in the study was the hermeneutic method of text analysis, supplemented by the method of historicism.
