Summary/Abstract: In her article, the author presented a diagnosis of the organisational culture of small and medium-sized enterprises introducing innovations. To illustrate the background of the analysed cultural patterns the author also presented various aspects of SME innovative activities. An aim of the conducted surveys was to identify the analysed cultural patterns and the selected aspects of SME innovativeness. In order to achieve the adopted aim and to receive as objective research findings as possible the author used quantitative questionnaire-based surveys. The research findings, as regards assessment of organisational culture of innovative SMEs, indicate the dominance of the following cultural patterns: approach towards people, individualism, a large distance of the authority, orientation on the environment, low tolerance of uncertainty, proinnovativeness, status of achievements, and low communication context. The organisational culture describing SMEs is undoubtedly shaped by the innovative policy. However, the system of cultural patterns cannot be treated as a dependent variable. The management of enterprises surveyed does not undertake measures for shaping the proinnovative organisational culture. The article is of the research nature.
