Summary/Abstract: The goal of the study is a comparative analysis of the way the nine purposes of consumption, saving and investing are perceived be representatives of six regions of Poland. The author assessed the stability of respondents’ opinions as regards the importance of purposes. She analysed the differences between the regions and groups of individuals with stable and unstable opinions. She determined the hierarchy of purposes for individual regions. She also grouped the objects (regions) and variables (purposes of consumption, saving and investing) by their similarity. The analysis was carried out with the use of the Kruskal-Wallis test and the cluster analysis. The author proved the need to check reliability of respondents’’ opinions to have conclusions justified on substance. She revealed the convergence between the overall economic characteristics of regions and the perceived importance of purposes. This confirms not only the differentiation of regions but also the need for consumer education. The article is of the research nature.
