Summary/Abstract: An aim of considerations is to describe the consumption pattern and quality of life of large households in Poland. The author relies on findings of the pilot survey carried out in 2014 by the method of Internet on-line survey among 34 such households. The data were confronted with similar results of CSO surveys of 2012. There was also used the available literature. The main research findings concern the following issues: - disposable income and expenditure of households (per capita income appeared to be lower in large households than in the sample of Polish households as a whole); - structure of expenditure (with few exceptions, it is similar in both types of households); - level of needs satisfaction (the least satisfied needs are savings, recreation and culture as well as household equipment and management); - large households’ living and housing conditions are at least as good as those of other households in Poland; - subjective evaluation of the aspects of life is neutral or moderately positive. The research findings will allow better planning of activities to be carried out by enterprises (including marketing ones) addressed to the segment of large households. They will also allow a better recognition of the specificity of such households also by other institutions (governmental, non-profit).
