Summary/Abstract: „Bishop Czeslaw Rydzewski’s Visitations from July 1947” is a first bishop’s report about personal and material state of the parishes in Suwalki and Sejny Regions, the report which was made after the Second World War. The value of these proceedings is important inasmuch as they testify the most important events and affairs of the local churches not only of the occupation years, but also of the first postwar years. Be-cause of lacking other sources they are the basic material that enables to investigate the history of particular parishes and churches. The original of the visitations is held in the Elk Diocese Archive in Elk.
