Categorisation of Rural Tourist Accommodation as a Key Element Raising The Level of Quality of Tourism Services in Poland

Summary/Abstract: Categorization is for owners of rural tourism facilities guarantor of well-perceivedquality and a kind of promotion. Despite this belief all the time is underrated part of theservices. This procedure was carried out only in 15.5% (220) lodging, the most – In theMałopolska province (78). The main category of proven quality was “II” (2 suns – 78)and the category “Standard” (59). Highest III was seldom broadcast. It received 14.5% ofthe total categorized entities operating in the countryside. A relatively small number ofowners of objects categorized (85) described their services on the website. Lack of basicinformation about accommodation, nutritional and attractions available in 61.4% of therespondents in a significant way (despite vested categorization) weakens the authenticityof the product. The study revealed that of the 23 Polish tourist regions, Małopolska,Mazowsze and Pomorze have the most numbers of categorized objects; additionallyMałopolska offers the most of services provided in an active farm, i.e. “at farmer’s”.
