Summary/Abstract: On this scientific paper, the authors will try to through data analyzes on best way explain, first expansion and then an enlargement policy of the European Union. The subject of this analysis is the history of the European Union, under the previous name of the European Economic Community and the European Coal and Steel Community. Also, authors will try to explain when it can join according to which provisions, former current enlargement process is called successive enlargement, and others. There will be noted that the expansion is and will be one of the successful foreign policy of the European Union. Geopolitics is undoubtedly the Guide of each Processing within the European Union, including the process of enlargement. The typology of foreign policy, their importance and types of these policies, it will be a feature of this voluminous work. Authors will try to explain why this process is called the expansion of the European Union and not a re-unification of Europe.
