Summary/Abstract: The popularisation of the Internet in various areas of socio-economic development has also created a new space to conduct market research. The paper is focused on the opportunities to conduct online experiments for marketing purposes. In the past, market experiments in real conditions (field experiments) were not widely used in marketing, but the Internet creates a special space for their implementation. The article focuses on experiments carried out in real conditions via the Allegro platform in the area of online auctions. Interest in online auctions is due to their key role for the Polish e-commerce. The background for field experiments is presented in general followed by an extensive discussion on the determinants of online field experiments for the purpose of marketing.
