Summary/Abstract: The subject of the article concerns the task set to literature and polish language didactics in the context of multiculturalism and intercultural education. Starting point is the statement that main commitment of education of polish language is preparing the student to participation in everyday cultural and social life in every aspect of it. It is specially vital today, in the conditions of intensified interactions with other cultures. Special attention in the article is paid to ministerial documents. All this leads to a conclusion that intercultural education is not only simple task for a teacher, but also a challenge. Teachers lack both – knowledge about intercultural education itself and means of introducing it to a teaching process.
