The therapy for people addicted to alkohol in penal institutions

Summary/Abstract: The article presents the orgaznization of the treatment process of alkohol addictions in penal institutions. The focus is on the specific character of the therapeutic effects and the differences between the patients of the prison drying-out (detox) programs and the ones of the programs organized at liberty. The article also shows the description of stages and forms of drying-out treatment. The Atlantis program and groups of Alcoholics Anonymous are presented. It’s stressed that detox therapy should be long-term and continued after serving a sentence of imprisonment.
