Summary/Abstract: Iran is the one of the most speculative country of the Middle East because of its strategic resources and radical government. Since mid 1980’s, Iran has been accused of producing nuclear weapons by the USA and other Western countries and has been evaluated as a threat against the peace of the region and the world by the USA. Although Iran had transferred its nuclear technology from West, real reason of this accusation stems from the fact that Iran is a country which cannot be controlled completely by the West. Turkey, as a region country, is a key country in this conflict and Turkey gives a stipulated support to Iran about its nuclear technology. Although Turkey does not perceive Iran as a direct threat, Iran’s nuclear policy will corrupt the balance in the region against Turkey. Additionally, the relations between Turkey and Iran proceed on a delicate ground. This essay evaluates the consequences of Iran’s nuclear policy for Turkey by examining its historical background.
