Challenges in Management of Urban Development on the Example of Nowa Huta District

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this paper is to identify the challenges in management of urban development on the example of Nowa Huta. The work was divided into three parts, each of which discusses a different aspect concerning the essence of the subject. The first part refers to the history of Nowa Huta. Second part discusses problems in managing the development of the city. Last part refers to Nowa Huta and the challenges posed by the authorities in relation to its historical conditions, as well as the actions taken to date. To achieve the objective were used analysis of literature on the field of history, sociology, management development, social geography, strategic documents and materials available on the Websites. Analysis of literature allowed the development of applications which basis do further research in this area.
