The adherence of the inhabitants of Arges County to the petition of June 11, 1861

Summary/Abstract: The popular demonstrations which took place in the Principalities during the month of June 1861 for a complete union under the native prince chosen on 5/24 January 1859 are part of the efforts of all the plans for the consolidation of the Union. They express the eloquent adhesion of the people to the turn of Prince Alexander Jean Cuza under the reign of which one wished the fulfillment of the great national ideals. All these manifestations took place during the subscription of the petition of June 11, 1861, the anniversary of the 13 years since the beginning of the revolution of 1848. The Library of the Romanian Academy keeps four volumes containing the majority of the petitions of the summer of 1861 , Including those of the department of Argeş, including the city of Câmpulung Muscel. There are more than 566 signatures of the inhabitants of Curtea de Argeş, Câmpulung and neighboring villages.
