Summary/Abstract: Darul-mua’llimin (School for teachers) was a school that trained students for becoming teachers for children as mu’allims in maktabs or as muderris teaching in lower madrasas. As a state owned school darul-mua’llimin in Sarajevo functioned within two time periods. The first was between the year 1860 and 1878, the second from 1892 to 1918. As a public school its functioning was subjected to the state educational supervision that then issued the report of the inspection. Between 1911 and 1917, the supervisor for Sarajevo was Edhem Mulabdić. After spending five days in this school, at the beginning of 1916, observing how and what teachers are teaching and what level of education students have achieved he wrote a detailed report. In this article we presented the most relevant parts of the report that reflect both, the efforts of the teachers and achievements of students. It presents a valuable illustration of the conditions of Darul-ma’llim at the beginning of 1916.
