Summary/Abstract: The article introduces the concept of intercultural competence in the contextof teaching the German language in Polish junior schools based on selectedhandbooks tasks which promote the development of certain aspects of this competence.The aim of the article is to reflect on the typology of such tasks and thepossibilities of their implementation in school education.
