Summary/Abstract: The year 1946 was very difficult for the Romanians. Apart from the introduction of a pro-communist gov- ernment led by dr. Petru Groza, who falsified the results of the elections and accentuated the Sovietisation of the country, the population also bears the consequences of a terrible drought.The weak harvest of a country par excellence agricultural was a debacle for several neighbors, but especially for Moldova, which experienced the famine. The food crisis was accentuated also by the kindness to pay the war debt to the Soviet Union
